For the first time, EVER, I will not be celebrating 4th of July. I love 4th of July. It’s one of my favorite holidays. I become extremely patriotic when I start thinking about the Revolutionary War fighting the British. (Throw those Telsas in the Boston Harbor!!) By the way Starz had a pretty good deal recently and still might. $23.99 for a year. I decided to do that to watch the last of Outlander. Outlander is to the point of fighting the British. Brings out my Scottish roots. Hell, yes!
We are honoring the constitution instead of the traditional 4th. I think you know why. I’m not into that big ass “ugly’ bill. It only took five, yes five more votes to defeat it. All the details are sketchy and social media has mentioned all kinds of stuff. If ANY of it’s true, people we ARE in trouble. It’s bad enough as it is. Right?
Thus in toasting our constitution, I’m making a big crockpot of beans and weenies. I chopped up a package plus of turkey hotdogs. (have you priced hotdogs?? WTF? WHERE are the 4th of July sales? I have seen none. a Foster Farms chicken or turkey package at Lucky’s are almost four bucks!!)
I’m also making deviled eggs. I forget the story behind deviled eggs and bars, but it seems like they are on the menu everywhere. Egg prices are a little down, but don’t you secretly want to have a flock of chickens laying beautiful eggs in your backyard? I know I do, but I need to move out further. The old neighborhood is repaidly becoming higher and higher desinty as our fearless leaders sign more laws and change the zoning codes so they can line their pockets…but what else is knew?
Beans and Weenies
2 cans Bush Vegetarian beans
At least one package of hotdogs cut into 1 inch-ish pieces (I used a package and 1/2)
Brown Sugar to taste (recipes online are saying to add molasses, but I like brown sugar)
1 onion ( I used 2 small white)
Big squirt or two of ketchup
Glob of German mustard
pepper to taste
Mix all that and place in crockpot. I put it on slow for 4 hours
(Hopefully that will work or the dog will be happy.

Deviled Eggs
Boil eggs, shell, you know the drill.
Do this to taste. It will work.
Mash yolks, add mayo, mustard and chop up green olives and add sunflower seeds.
That’s how my mom made it! :)

Appetizer
Can of smoked salmon (Mine is from a friend that caught salmon up in Alaska. I have to brag, Sorry.)
Cream cheese ( I found some whipped cream cheese at Safeway on sale)
Chopped green onions
I haven’t made that yet, but might add some lemon zest. Just follow your instincts, You will be happy. Really!
Thanks for reading and may you enjoy this celebration in our beautiful country.
Cheers!
